Advanced Research

Saint Francis Medical Center actively participates in research through the St. Louis/Cape Girardeau Community Clinical Oncology Program and the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group, a research organization funded by the National Cancer Institute, to provide new treatment options to eligible patients.

MD Anderson Physicians Network

Saint Francis Medical Center is affiliated with the MD Anderson Physicians Network through the MD Anderson Cancer Manager program to bring eligible patients in the region evidence-based cancer treatments. As allies in the local fight against cancer, the affiliation offers current research for nearly every type and stage of cancer to eligible patients and the "best practice" care philosophy implemented utilizing Saint Francis' medical, surgical and radiation oncology resources. Saint Francis is the only Cape Girardeau healthcare provider approved to offer the Cancer Manager program to payors in the region.

Medical Oncology

Saint Francis Medical Center's board certified medical oncologists provide medical options for the treatment of cancer, including chemotherapy, biological drug therapy and immunotherapy.

Radiation Oncology

Under the direction of a board certified radiation oncologist, Saint Francis Medical Center offers sophisticated therapeutic radiation treatments such as intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and frameless stereotatic radiosurgery to precisely target tumors in various areas of the body.
