Children's Center

The new, state-of-the-art Children's Center at Saint Francis Medical Center provides compassionate, comprehensive care to children of all ages (newborn through 17 years old) suffering from various illnesses and injuries. Parents can rest assured their children will receive high-quality medical and surgical care from leading specialists who understand pediatric medicine.

Located on the second floor of the Medical Center, the new Children's Center (which opened in February 2007) is designed to provide quality pediatric care for emergencies and routine medical/surgical inpatient admissions, as well as support for patients undergoing outpatient procedures. The Children's Center features experienced pediatric caregivers, including:

• Board certified pediatricians
• Specially trained pediatric nursing staff
• Pediatric social worker and case managers
• Pediatric-trained dietitians; rehabilitation therapists; and X-ray, surgery and laboratory technicians 

The new Children's Center offers eight beds for patients with access to three additional beds if more children require care at the Medical Center. Each patient room is private to accomodate overnight parental visits and features homelike décor that is appealing to children of all ages. Separate treatment and exam rooms allow physicians and nurses to perform procedures outside of the child's room, helping kids always feel safe and secure in their own rooms. The new facility also has central cardiac monitoring, a security system and a three-room clinic for outpatient visits.

Peditatric patients can also enjoy a playroom loaded with age-appropriate games and toys as well as a state-of-the-art theater room with a fiber-optic starry night ceiling and top-of-the-line audio and video equipment donated to Saint Francis by Q Audio & Video.
