Saint Francis Welcomes Primary Care Practice
Saint Francis Medical Center proudly welcomes its newest physician practice partner, Cape Medical Group. The primary care group, formerly known as Mount Auburn Medical Group, provides care for patients of all ages and is led by board certified family medicine physician Jeffrey W. Childers, MD, and board certified internal medicine physician Philip E. Tippen, MD.
For more than 10 years, Childers has been helping patients stay healthy for life, manage chronic conditions and find the best specialists when needed. Tippen, too, specializes in primary care and draws upon his experience treating a wide range of conditions in both office and emergency room settings.
Their patients have direct access to the Medical Center’s powerful resources, including the latest technology, medical breakthroughs and leading specialists.
Childers earned his medical degree at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia and completed a family medicine residency at Quincy Family Practice Center and Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. His interests include fishing, fly tying and home construction.
Tippen earned his medical degree at the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine and completed a primary care and internal medicine residency at Bassett Hospital/Columbia University in Cooperstown, N.Y. He also enjoys fishing and fly tying, in addition to baseball and music.
