Saint Francis Medical Center is offering a free educational event on digestive diseases December 14 at 6 pm in the Saint Francis Conference Center. Attendees will learn about common digestive diseases and their risk factors, symptoms and diagnosis from an experienced gastroenterologist. “Complaints related to the digestive tract are some of the most common reasons we take over-the-counter medications, prescription medication or seek the advice of healthcare providers,” explains Rafid J. Hussein, DO, gastroenterologist at Saint Francis. That is why he is offering a presentation and question-answer session on the risk factors and symptoms for digestive disorders. Hussein also will explain the procedures and tests utilized in making a diagnosis, as well as common treatments prescribed to feel better. There are many types of digestive disorders, and the symptoms vary widely depending on the problem.
