Furry 5K To Benefit Pet Therapy Program

Fitness Plus will host the third annual Furry 5K run and one-mile walk on Saturday, June 11, at Capaha Park in shelter #1 on Broadway Street. Race day registration is from 7:30 to 8:15 am, and the race begins at 8:30 am.

A portion of the $25 registration fee will benefit Saint Francis Medical Center’s Inpatient Rehabilitation pet therapy program. While participants are invited to bring a furry friend, dogs are not required for participation. Registration forms may be completed at the Fitness Plus Service Desk or online at www.caperoadrunners.org. Participants registered by May 26 will receive $5 off the registration fee and are guaranteed a T-shirt and dog kerchief.

For safety reasons, the following are not allowed: retractable leashes, dogs younger than 6 months, leashes longer than 8 feet, female dogs in heat and aggressive dogs. All dogs must be on a leash at all times and must have current vaccinations. Participants are responsible for the clean up for their dogs and supplies will be provided in the race packet. For more information, contact Sandy Duncan, MSA, HFS, operations and wellness services manager at Fitness Plus, at 573-331-5312.
