Saint Francis Medical Center has been named by Modern Healthcare magazine as one of the top 100 “Best Places to Work in Healthcare” for the third consecutive year in 2010 – an honor no other employer in Missouri has achieved. The program, sponsored by the prestigious Modern Healthcare magazine, is open to companies from across the healthcare industry – hospitals, service companies, suppliers, payors and others – with at least 25 employees. More than 320 healthcare companies participated in this year’s third annual survey.
Modern Healthcare’s “Best Places to Work in Healthcare” designation recognizes innovative healthcare workplaces that engage and inspire employees. To earn membership in this elite group, Saint Francis’ policies, practices, benefits and demographics were thoroughly reviewed. In addition, a randomly selected group of 350 employees were asked in-depth questions about eight core areas: leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, working environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits, and overall satisfaction.
“Saint Francis’ inclusion on the list for the third consecutive year is truly an honor — as well as a testament to our commitment to living out our philosophy and values every day,” says Steven C. Bjelich, FACHE-D, President and Chief Executive Officer of Saint Francis. “Visit the Medical Center and you will see dedicated employees taking pride in the work they do on every floor, in every hallway and department, and in every office and common area. Satisfied, empowered employees create the foundation for excellent patient care, and they are the power behind the superior health services Saint Francis provides.”
Modern Healthcare will reveal the specific ranking of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare live on October 18 at a special awards gala in Dallas. It will post the results October 19 on www.modernhealthcare.com and publish them in a supplement to Modern Healthcare magazine October 25.
