Saint Francis Medical Center welcomes Scott A. Anderson, DO, as a new Medical Partner and oncologist at Cape Medical Oncology, joining Olivia Aranha, MD, PhD; Mark A. Meadors, DO; Carlos Robles, MD; Stanley D. Sides, MD, FACP; and Prem Sobti, MD. Anderson spent 19 years in internal medicine academia before completing his oncology fellowship.
Prior to joining Saint Francis, Anderson was president of his practicing group, Academic Medicine, Inc., actively training many internal medicine residents. He also served as an assistant professor of internal medicine at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine for 10 years. Anderson received his medical degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Mo., and served an internship and residency at Kirksville Osteopathic Hospital, studying internal medicine.
After two successful decades in internal medicine, Anderson found his passion was fighting cancer. He completed an oncology fellowship at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinic in Columbia, Mo., and now joins the experienced team at Cape Medical Oncology.
“Dr. Anderson is incredibly motivated to work with patients and cure them of their cancer,” says Steven C. Bjelich, FACHE-D, President and Chief Executive Officer at Saint Francis. “He will bring a great amount of experience, knowledge and dedication to Cape Medical Oncology, as well as the personal touch of a family physician.”
