Saint Francis Medical Center will host a free balance and fall prevention screening on October 26 from 7 to 10 am in the Health and Wellness Center Conference Room 1, 150 S. Mount Auburn Road, Entrance 8.
Falls are the leading cause of fatal injuries for Americans 65 and older. More than 18,000 older Americans die every year because of a fall, and the rate has risen dramatically over the last 10 years.
Taking precautions to avoid falling is smart for everyone – and particularly important for older adults. Saint Francis staff will be on hand to screen for balance; conduct fall-risk assessments; and provide tips on preventing falls to ensure that you lead a safe, active and injury-free life.
