Employees of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway in Chaffee shared their abundance with young patients in the Saint Francis Medical Center Children’s Center during Christmas.
After the annual BNSF Christmas party, all extra gifts are donated to local charities and pediatric patients. The gifts are provided by Ben Sharpe, BNSF superintendent of operations. John Neel, BNSF trainmaster, says the donations are one small way the railway can give back to the community.
“Every child should have a happy Christmas, even if they are in the hospital,” says Neel. “Hopefully, we can help make it brighter for the kids at Saint Francis.”
