Saint Francis Medical Center is proud to announce a partnership with Perry County Memorial Hospital that will bring expert wound care to Perryville. Saint Francis vascular surgeon William Tung, MD, and thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon John C. Wiggans, MD, FACS, opened a new wound clinic at Perry County Memorial Hospital on August 6.
Through this new collaboration between Perry County Memorial and Saint Francis, specialists are now available in Perryville to provide expert care and develop individualized treatment plans that help patients experience faster healing rates, quicker return to normal activities and improved quality of life.
Board certified and fellowship-trained, both Tung and Wiggans have experience using leading-edge technology and therapies to diagnose and treat wounds that have resisted conventional treatments.
Tung earned his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md. He completed a residency in general surgery and a fellowship in vascular surgery at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis. He also served as a research fellow at Washington University Medical Center, investigating genetics involved in thyroid cancer and in abdominal aortic aneurysms.
Wiggans earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He completed residencies at St. Vincent Hospital and Health Care in Indianapolis and at the University of Illinois Hospitals and Clinics in Chicago.
