Poplar Bluff Medical Partners is a group of 39 physicians dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare in the Poplar Bluff community. In January 2002, Poplar Bluff Medical Partners and Saint Francis Healthcare System announced plans to develop a 32-acre medical campus in Poplar Bluff.
The complex currently consists of a new diagnostic imaging center, which offers:
- The area's only open MRI (magnetic resonance imaging)
- CT (computerized tomography), ultrasound, X-ray, nuclear medicine and a P.E.T. (positron emission tomography) scanner
- The area's only mobile mammography van that provides advanced diagnostics, education and risk assessment
In 2003, Poplar Bluff Medical Partners opened The Surgery Center of Poplar Bluff to complement the diagnostic imaging center. When completed, the state-of-the-art complex will also include:
- Radiation therapy
- Rehabilitation care
- Durable medical equipment
- A medical office building
Focused primarily on outpatient care, the medical complex enables patients to remain close to home and family while receiving care and allows Poplar Bluff Medical Partners a closer working relationship with Saint Francis for tertiary care services. Future projects include a medical office building (to be completed spring 2007) and a 60-bed acute care hospital.
