Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor Course

This program prepares the ACLS American Heart Association Instructor candidates to learn how to disseminate the science, skills and philosophy of resuscitation programs and gain the knowledge necessary to teach ACLS.

Saint Francis Medical Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Midwest Multistate Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Target Audience:

This instructor-level course is designed for those who are strongly motivated to teach with a high level of enthusiasm and have excellent ACLS performance skills.

Prerequisite:

Completion of the AHA "Core Instructor Course," which will be included in the pre-course packet. This course requires some computer skills and on average can take 6 – 8 hours to complete, depending on your internet and computer speed.

Participants must be a current provider (2015 Guidelines) in the discipline they will be teaching and have a current BLS.

All AHA instructors must have a current Instructor Manual in the discipline they are teaching.
