Saint Francis Medical Center has announced the appointment of vascular surgeon Colleen J. Moore, MD, FACS, to medical director of the Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center. She will lead three other physicians at the comprehensive wound care facility: Janna Crosnoe, MD; Jennifer C. Jiang, MD; and Matthew B. Schumer, MD.
Moore is board certified in general and vascular surgery, and earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She completed her training in general and vascular surgery at the University of Missouri Hospitals and Clinics in Columbia, Mo. She joined Cape Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery after seven years at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of surgery and director of The Vein Clinic. During that time, she also served as the director of the noninvasive vascular laboratory at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, Ill.
“The appointment of Dr. Moore strengthens our commitment to provide comprehensive care to patients with chronic wounds,” says Steven C. Bjelich, FACHE-D, President and Chief Executive Officer at Saint Francis. “Her extensive experience will further benefit patients at the Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center.”
Each of the Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center’s physicians are specially trained in hyperbaric oxygen therapy. They provide wound care based on years of evidence-based research and best practices from the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society.
