Saint Francis Medical Center is pleased to announce the addition of Colleen Johnson Moore, MD, FACS, as a new Medical Partner and the newest vascular surgeon at Cape Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery. This highly skilled physician joins three other expert surgeons at this thriving Cape practice: Edward M. Bender, MD, FACS, cardiothoracic surgeon; Bruce A. Jones, MD, FACS, cardiothoracic surgeon; and John C. Wiggans, MD, FACS, vascular and thoracic surgeon.
Moore, a Cape Girardeau native, is board certified in both general and vascular surgery. She earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and completed her training in general and vascular surgery at the University of Missouri Hospitals and Clinics in Columbia, Mo. She joins Cape Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery after seven years at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of surgery and director of The Vein Clinic. During that time, she also served as the director of the noninvasive vascular laboratory at St. John’s Hospital.

Moore has clinical expertise in the treatment and management of pelvic varices with ovarian vein embolization and uterine artery embolization for the treatment of fibroid disease. She offers comprehensive management of deep venous thrombosis, including thrombolysis using the EKOS lysis system. She also has expertise in the following conditions and treatments: venous disease; dialysis access, including HeRO Vascular Access Device; peripheral artery disease; pelvic congestion syndrome; CryoPlasty; angioplasty; echo catheter; mesenteric artery disease; abdominal and thoracic aortic endografting; peripheral artery disease; carotid artery stenosis; lymphedema; and iliac vein stenting.
