“Why I Do What I Do” is a recurring series featuring Saint Francis employees discussing their professional passions, motivations, and influences.
The Joy of Mission Committee coordinates social and spiritual events for Saint Francis Employees and their families, such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Feast of Saint Francis, Christmas Party and more, in an effort to bring joy to the organization and enhance our Franciscan Mission.

Safe Sitter is a medically accurate, hands-on class that teaches boys and girls ages 11 to 13 how to handle emergencies when caring for children.
Saint Francis Medical Center uses the Mobile Alert System to communicate with the Saint Francis Family. The Mobile Alert System is a quick, simple and effective way for employees to stay informed about news and events taking place at Saint Francis. Sign-up is voluntary. You will be asked to provide your contact information, including personal cell phone or email address, employee number and department, during the sign-up process. This free service is offered exclusively for the Saint Francis Family (check your wireless provider for any message and data rates that may apply).

The mission of the Saint Francis Medical Center Caring Fund is to assist employees who demonstrate need and who are experiencing an unexpected financial emergency.
When employees face unexpected personal and financial hardships, the Saint Francis Medical Center Family is here to help. The Medical Center’s Caring Fund provides confidential, timely, short-term financial assistance to employees during tough times. The Saint Francis Medical Center Caring Fund was established in 1994 to assist employees during times of emergency or personal crisis through financial and physical support. Since its inception, the Fund has provided more than $817,000 to employees in need.
Employees must submit an application for a Caring Fund grant. The application is reviewed to determine if the applicant meets the eligibility requirements for the grant process. No personal interviews are conducted, and recommendations from peers, co-workers or supervisors are not considered. Decisions are based solely on the information provided in the application.

Employee Pharmacy Benefit
Effective January 2018, all employees and dependents using Saint Francis prescription insurance must fill their maintenance & specialty medications at a Saint Francis-owned pharmacy.
Maintenance medications must move to a Saint Francis pharmacy (Healing Arts & Specialty Pharmacy or Pharmacy Plus in Cape Girardeau, or Kneibert Clinic Pharmacy in Poplar Bluff) after the second fill and specialty medications must be filled at the Healing Arts & Specialty Pharmacy beginning with the first fill in 2018. Please note: When you need a prescription filled for one-time use (for example, an antibiotic when you are sick), you may fill the prescription at the pharmacy of your choice.
Request a refill at all three pharmacies by phone or in person, online for Healing Arts & Specialty Pharmacy or with the Rx2Go app on your mobile device.
Fitness Plus Discount for Employees
New! Saint Francis Healthcare System employees now get 20 percent off their Fitness Plus membership dues – with the option of earning an additional 20 percent off!
Also, you no longer must sign a one-year contract, but can instead join month-to-month with no enrollment fee. After your first year of membership, if you have averaged at least eight visits each month, you will earn an additional 20 percent off your membership fees for the following year. The discount applies to all membership types: single, couple and family memberships.

Employees and friends of the Medical Center can now purchase official Saint Francis polo shirts, fleece jackets, duffel bags and more online at the Saint Francis Store. Simply visit the Saint Francis Store and register. Your account information will be automatically saved to make future purchases quick and easy.
Payments are secure through PayPal. All proceeds from purchases help fund and grow the site.
Remote access is available to API Laborworkx, where employees can view and print documents such as time reports and W-2 forms, or modify employee information from home and other locations outside the Medical Center. Log in using your Epic or Saint Francis email account username and password.
