Caring Cards Competition
September 11 @ 8:00 am - October 5 @ 10:00 amFree
Do you love creating handmade greeting cards? Saint Francis invites you to participate in a fun card-making competition!
Cards can be any theme – for example: Thinking of You, blank (decorated, but no message / sentiments), Uplifting, Encouragement, Get Well, Sympathy, Birthday, Thank You, etc. There is no limit to the number of handmade cards you can submit for competition. However, cards submitted will not be returned but will instead be used by Saint Francis Healthcare System departments to send to their patients.
Cards for the competition must have been made by the submitter. If you do not want to enter the competition but have an excess of handmade cards, we will gladly accept them as donation cards, even if they were not made by you.
Please do not stamp or write your name on the back of the card(s). You will be assigned a number, and that number should be written in the lower-right corner on the back of the card along with a “1” if participating in the competition, or a “2” if just donating. For example, if your assigned number is “190” and you’re donating a card, you would write “190-2” in the lower-right corner on the back of the card.
Competition cards can be any size, but an appropriately-sized envelope must be included. Envelopes for donation cards would be appreciated, but are not necessary.
Drop-off location for competition and donation cards is the Saint Francis Volunteer Office (entrance 1), Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. Contact Teresa Lukefahr, Volunteer Coordinator, at 573-331-5166 to schedule a drop-off time. Deadline for submission is 10:00 am on Saturday, October 5, 2019.
Judging for competition cards will take place at the crafting crop on October 5. Independent, neutral judges not affiliated with our crops will judge the entries. The decision of the judges is final. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
Please call 573-331-5166 for more information.
