To help busy women fit important mammograms into their already packed schedules, Saint Francis Healthcare System’s Womancare is now offering evening and weekend appointments.
“We value our patient’s time and know that making an appointment for a mammogram may not be convenient or on top of their to-do list,” says Laramie A. Bryant, MSN, APRN, FNP-C nurse practitioner at Saint Francis Healthcare System. “However, mammograms save lives and are essential for early detection of breast cancer. That is why we are excited to offer these new evening and weekend hours to accommodate our patient’s needs.”
Womancare offers three-dimensional mammograms with tomosynthesis, which provides better cancer detection for women. If a woman has an abnormal mammogram, the facility provides all aspects of follow-up care, including breast-specific ultrasound and same-day biopsy, if available. “If your mammogram is concerning, we are often able to facilitate further testing, as well as consultation with our breast surgeons in the Womancare clinic, all in the same day,” says Bryant.
Three-dimensional mammograms are also available to patients in the Poplar Bluff area. Call Saint Francis Clinic Poplar Bluff at 573-727-5500 for more information or to schedule a mammogram. Walk-ins are also welcome.
To schedule a 3-D mammogram in the Cape Girardeau area, call Womancare at 573-331-5209.
