Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States.
The Heart to Heart Luncheon, hosted by Saint Francis Medical Center and supported by committee members from the community, is an annual event committed to raising awareness of women’s unique risk factors for heart disease. Held each spring, the luncheon features educational exhibits, free screenings, a keynote speaker, a meal, door prizes and gifts for each attendee.
The next luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, at Drury Lodge, 104 South Vantage Drive in Cape Girardeau. Doors open at 10:30 am for exhibits and screenings and the keynote address and meal begin at noon.
Proceeds from the Heart to Heart Luncheon benefit the Cardiac Rehabilitation Patient Scholarship Fund at Saint Francis. Scholarships from this fund benefit female cardiac patients in need of financial assistance.
