One of the best ways to reduce lower back pain is to exercise. Studies have shown that exercise is more effective than any other method. Neutral spine core stability exercises are the best exercises to relieve lower back pain. These include:
- Front plank – Lie on your stomach with your elbows at your side and your hands placed face down in front of you on the floor. Tighten your abdominal and core muscles, slowly lift your torso and thighs off the floor, hold them for 5 seconds or more, and lower them again.
- Bird dog – Kneel on the floor and point one arm straight in front of you while extending the opposite leg to the rear. Repeat with the other arm and leg.
Other helpful exercises include the side plank and abdominal pull-in.
