Relay for Life Continues Journey to Fight Cancer

If you or someone you know has been affected by cancer, you know the struggles associated with fighting this deadly disease. Relay for Life® helps raise money for cancer research, honors cancer survivors and pays tribute to those who have lost their lives to cancer. In addition to walking, participants can enjoy music, food and other activities for the whole family. A luminaria ceremony honors loved ones who have passed away or are fighting cancer.

“Everyone has someone in their life that has been affected by this disease,” says Prem Sobti, MD, medical oncologist/hematologist at Saint Francis Medical Center. “So many people come to walk, remember loved ones and it reminds us that this challenge is ongoing.”

Sobti_PremRelay For Life begins with the opening ceremony at 6 pm June 14 and ends with the closing ceremony at 5 am June 15. All events are located in Arena Park in Cape Girardeau.
