The 2015 Jingle Bell Run and Walk benefiting the Arthritis Foundation is now accepting registrations. Saint Francis Medical Center is the main corporate sponsor of the 2015 Run and Walk in Cape Girardeau on Saturday, December 12. The event will include a 5K run, one-mile walk and a Santa Chase (a 50-yard dash for 5 years and under) starting and finishing at Fitness Plus, 150 S. Mount Auburn Road, Entrance 8.
The Jingle Bell Run/Walk raises awareness about the nation’s most common cause of disability, while also raising desperately needed funds to help find a cure for arthritis. According to the Arthritis Foundation, more than 46 million Americans have arthritis and some 300,000 are children.
Be one of the thousands of runners and walkers who will hit the nation’s pavements, pathways and parks this winter to fight arthritis, the nation’s most common cause of disability. Wear holiday themed costumes or bells on your shoes and run or walk with your team celebrating the season by giving to those who need it most. Participants are encouraged to wear holiday–themed costumes for the best-dressed contest!
Adult participants may register now or the day of the race beginning at 7:45 am. The race will begin Saturday at 9 am. The registration fee is $30 in advance and $35 the day of the race; $25 for ages 13 and younger; and $5 for the Santa Chase (ages 5 and younger). All entries will include the all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, and the 5K and one-mile participants will receive a long-sleeved cotton shirt.
Sign up by Saturday, October 31 and receive a free stocking cap in addition to the long-sleeve shirt. Registration forms are available at Fitness Plus, Missouri Running Company or register online at www.jbr.org/cape and www.caperoadrunners.org.
