Saint Francis Hosts Mobile Mammography Van for Free Screenings

Saint Francis Healthcare System and the University of Missouri Health Care have partnered to bring the mobile mammography van or “Mamm Van” back to southeast Missouri.

The free screenings are funded by Saint Francis Foundation’s Pink Up™ campaign for breast cancer awareness and are available to women without health insurance.

“We are once again, very excited about the opportunity to bring mammograms directly to women in southeast Missouri,” says Jimmy Wilferth, Vice President, Saint Francis Foundation & Marketing. “No matter the circumstances, whether it’s a lack of insurance or transportation preventing them from getting screened, we are fighting to make sure all women in our region have access to this lifesaving screening.”

“Pink Up™ has been successful in providing free mammograms to women in need for over a decade,” continues Wilferth. “The Mamm Van allows us to reach more women in need, right where they are. We are so grateful for our partnership with the MU Health Care.”

The unit is a high-tech mobile mammography unit from MU Health Care with certified medical staff from Saint Francis. Call 573-331-5111 to register.
