Saint Francis Medical Center has added Karen McDaniel to the Business Development team as a Physician and Business Liaison, based out of Physicians Park Primary Care, a Saint Francis Medical Partner. In this new role, McDaniel will work with companies in the Poplar Bluff area, educating them on the services available at the Medical Center, including the Occupational Medicine Clinic and Wellness programs. She will also join the other Physician and Business Liaisons in cultivating positive relationships with area referring physicians by addressing issues, answering questions and providing timely information about new services and technology available at the Medical Center.
McDaniel has an extensive background in healthcare, specifically in the Poplar Bluff area. Her responsibilities have evolved over the years, from clinical support in respiratory therapy, home health and osteoporosis treatment, to patient advocation and administrative roles within the physician group. Because of her long-standing relationships with the Poplar Bluff medical community, she is well suited for this new position with Saint Francis.
In addition to her professional life, McDaniel also has a passion for Dig for Life, Saint Francis Medical Center’s program that provides free mammograms to local women who otherwise could not afford them. She has played an active role in fundraising for Dig for Life by working with the girls’ volleyball team at Poplar Bluff High School to raise more than $25,000 over the last six years. Because of her mother’s battle with both breast and lung cancer, McDaniel says she is very dedicated to Dig for Life and other cancer awareness efforts.
