Saint Francis Healthcare System is hosting a free Pre-Diabetes Seminar on Tuesday, November 19 at 6 pm. The seminar will cover general information regarding the diagnosis, treatment and care for pre-diabetes. It begins at 6 pm in the Saint John of God Conference Room at Saint Francis Medical Center. Anyone interested in learning about the diagnosis, treatment and care for pre-diabetes is welcome to attend. The seminar also includes a free screening and door prizes.
“Research shows that 84 million people have pre-diabetes with 9 out of 10 people not knowing they have it,” said Debra Schumer, MA, RD, LD, Clinical Nutrition Manager of Food and Nutrition Services and Diabetes Education Management at Saint Francis Healthcare System. “Early identification and care are, as with many things, best practice to avoid complications and for overall health. Understanding what pre-diabetes is and how to care for it is valuable information as many of us face this or will face it in the near future.” Registration is requested, but not required. Email Jennifer Wills at email@example.com, call 573-331-5897 or visit the seminar event page to register.
