Saint Francis Adds Neurosurgical Practice and Experienced Physicians

Saint Francis Healthcare System is pleased to welcome Cape Neurosurgical Associates as a new specialty practice to Saint Francis Medical Partners, along with neurosurgeons Joel W. Ray, MD, FACS, and David G. Yingling, MD.

Located in Cape Girardeau, Cape Neurosurgical Associates provides patients with expert diagnosis and a full spectrum of surgical interventions for complicated disorders of the brain, spine and nerves. Dr. Ray and Dr. Yingling have extensive training and years of combined experience — performing thousands of procedures, from artificial lumbar and cervical disk implants to spinal fusions, SI joint fusions and brain tumors.

Dr. Ray, board certified in neurological surgery, earned his medical degree from State University of New York at Buffalo in Buffalo, N.Y. He completed both his general surgery internship and neurological surgery residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Ray has extensive training in spinal fusion and many other neurosurgical procedures.

Dr. Yingling, board certified in neurological surgery, earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, N.Y. He completed his general surgery internship, neurosurgery residency and neurosurgery chief residency — all at Albany Medical Center Hospital and Albany Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Albany, N.Y. Dr. Yingling serves as Chairman for the Department of Neurosurgery and, until recently, the Department of Surgery at Saint Francis Medical Center.

This practice joins fellow neurosurgical Medical Partners practice, Cape Spine & Neurosurgery, and its physicians Kaywan (Kev) Gamadia, DO, and Brandon J. Scott, DO.
