Southeast Missouri’s Regional Arthritis Center will host a six-week workshop designed to help patients learn to self-manage chronic diseases. Developed by the Patient Education Research Center at Stanford University School of Medicine, the program supports and builds confidence in patients’ ability to manage their health while maintaining an active and fulfilling life.
The Chronic Disease Self-Management Program is free and open to all area residents. Topics addressed range from techniques for coping with problems related to frustration, fatigue and anxiety to making action plans to address current symptoms.
Classes will be held at Saint Francis Medical Center in the Health and Wellness Center, 150 S. Mount Auburn Road, in Wellness Conference Room 2. Classes meet Mondays from 10 am-noon from September 14 through October 19.
