Missouri residents enrolled in select UnitedHealthcare employer-sponsored and individual plans now have expanded in-network access to care at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. These plans include UnitedHealthcare’s Choice POS and Options PPO.
Saint Francis Healthcare System offers services to more than 713,000 people in Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and Arkansas through Saint Francis Medical Center, a 308-bed not-for-profit tertiary care institution that includes Saint Francis Medical Partners, a medical group of approximately 200 physicians and providers.
Guided by its mission to provide a ministry of healing and wellness inspired by its Christian philosophy and values, the Medical Center has become a progressive, innovative regional tertiary care referral center. Saint Francis’ major service lines, which have received national recognition, include the Neurosciences Institute; Orthopedic Institute; Family BirthPlace, featuring the region’s first Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; Heart Hospital; Emergency and Level III Trauma Center with Convenient Care; Cancer Institute; and Fitness Plus.
Saint Francis Medical Center has also created powerful partnerships with highly trained physician practices to meet the special healthcare needs of residents throughout the five-state region.
“We are thrilled to expand our services to this new group of patients,” said Steven C. Bjelich, FACHE-D, Saint Francis Healthcare System President and Chief Executive Officer. “Saint Francis is committed to ensuring our patients have a choice for their healthcare providers.”
“Saint Francis Medical Center is an important provider of health care services, and this new network relationship lays the foundation for continued collaboration, helping to shift Missouri’s health care system from one based on volume of care to one that rewards quality and value,” said Steve Walli, CEO, UnitedHealthcare – Heartland States. “Our continued work together gives individuals and families in-network access to critical health services in southeastern Missouri.”
This agreement does not include all UnitedHealthcare plans. Customers should visit myuhc.com or call the customer service number on the back of their ID cards to verify in-network access to any hospital provider.
