Irish Splendor

November 1 – 8, 2022

Savor a true taste of Irish splendor when you spend the night in a stately castle. Relax by a roaring peat fire. Stand in awe on the Cliffs of Moher. Tour rollicking Dublin. Sip on the “Water of Life” at a whiskey distillery. Visit Christ Church Cathedral, one of Ireland’s most historic buildings and delight in cocktails and canapes in its crypt. Explore the spectacular Dingle Peninsula, and drive the Slea Head road for majestic coastal views. Gaze upon the historic Rock of Cashel. Visit the famous Gap of Dunloe where you can shop for traditional Irish goods. Meet a local family, and enjoy tea and scones at their farm. Kiss the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle. From the breathtaking sights of County Kerry to the historic Rock of Cashel, gaze across the countryside and culture of Ireland. Includes 8 days and 8 meals.

Christmas in Tennessee

November 27 – December 2, 2022

Friends Travel Club - Christmas in Tennessee

Join The Friends of Saint Francis Travel Club for Christmas in Tennessee! Travelers will begin the trip by motorcoaching from Cape Girardeau to the beautiful Pigeon Forge, Tennessee area, home to Dollywood, Dolly Parton’s Appalachian-themed park. This evening travelers will enjoy dinner and a show. The next day will be filled with the Morning Variety Theater and leisure time to enjoy Dollywood and the Smoky Mountains followed by an Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine Tour and Tasting and the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud Show. The group will then travel to Nashville to enjoy a stay at The Opryland Hotel, the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame. The guided tour of Nashville the next day will highlight Tennessee’s musicians and singers sharing stories and songs from the pride of Tennessee. This is one trip you don’t want to miss – the memories will be endless!

Day 1: November 27, 2022

Cape Girardeau, MO – Pigeon Forge TN (3 nights)

This morning, the group is picked up at a designated location in Cape Girardeau, MO. Continue to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, home to Dollywood, country singer Dolly Parton’s Appalachian-themed park. This evening, enjoy dinner and a show with your fellow travelers.

Day 2: November 28, 2022

After breakfast, experience the Morning Variety Show at the Smokey Mountain Opry Theater before spending the afternoon at the award-winning Dollywood Park located in the nearby Smokey Mountains. Enjoy Smokey Mountain Christmas in the park along with a show (subject to availability). Travelers will have a $25 dinner voucher included for use inside the park.

Pigeon Forge Sightseeing

Pigeon Forge – Nashville (2 nights)

Depart Pigeon Forge for Nashville, stopping for shopping at the Christmas Place and Bellflower Square. This afternoon, arrive in Nashville, the capital of Tennessee, home the legendary Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame. This evening, travelers will enjoy dinner and a show.

Day 5: December 1, 2022

Nashville Sightseeing

This morning, join travelers join the Local Specialist for a guided tour of Nashville. Travelers may then return to the hotel or join an optional luncheon cruise*. Later this afternoon, experience the ICE sculpture exhibit and Brightest Star Fountain Show. Enjoy a Grand Ole Opry Show in the evening. *Optional General Jackson Luncheon Cruise – Spend an afternoon on board the General Jackson Showboat to celebrate and salute the music of world famous Tennessee Legends. Listen to some of Nashville’s finest musicians and singers sharing stories and songs from the pride of Tennessee paired with a mouth-watering Southern meal. Optional is not included in pricing and for purchase on the trip. A minimum of 20 guests are required for the group rate. Boarding: 11:15 am. Departure: Noon. Return: 2:30 pm. From Amsterdam’s leafy canals to the towering spires of Cologne, your morning will be jam-packed with sights you’ll want to capture on camera as you head east into the lush landscapes of Germany. View the imposing Gothic Cologne Cathedral then head to Boppard where you’ll board your river cruise down the Rhine. Pass storybook villages, terraced vineyards and medieval castles where feuding lords must have surveyed their lands once upon a time. You’ll see why its enchanting landscapes have inspired myths and fables throughout the centuries before crossing into Switzerland. A quick stop in Schaffhausen means there’s time to capture the cascading waters of the Rhine Falls, Europe’s biggest waterfall, before you arrive in the scenic region of Lake Lucerne. Lucerne Orientation and Free Time
Join your Travel Director for an orientation through the Old Town and to the ancient Chapel Bridge and Lion Monument. See the mournful, mortally wounded lion hewn from rock to commemorate the sacrifice made by the Swiss Guards who died defending Louis XVI during the French Revolution, then enjoy some time on your own. You’ll then have the full day to discover why Lucerne earned its place on the ‘Grand Tour’ of Europe. You could choose to ascend to the alpine heavens, joining an optional scenic cruise across Lake Lucerne, then travel by railway and cable car into the mountains for exhilarating views. Lucerne Region – Paris (2 Nights)
Enjoy a brief second encounter with the Rhine River when you head north, passing Basel en route to France. Admire the scenic views of the Burgundy wine region that follow your journey north to the French capital. Get a head start on your sightseeing and delve into Paris’s grand past, dynamic present, and exciting future on your own this evening. Paris Sightseeing and Free Time
Embrace elegance today with a full day to get under the skin of the City of Lights. Your Travel Director will deliver an excellent introduction during your sightseeing tour which includes views of the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower and Champs-Élysées. There’s time to see the sights on your own this afternoon. You could choose to hit the shops or tread in the footsteps of Picasso and Dalí in Montmartre, exploring its maze of streets and Artists’ Square. Depart Paris
