Infusion Center

Saint Francis’ Infusion Center provides cancer care and chemotherapy treatments from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. However, we are also able to accommodate your needs if you require after-hours care.

The Center is staffed by oncology certified nurses who have been specially trained in chemotherapy and biotherapy. Cancer Navigator

Saint Francis offers two navigators to help you through your cancer care. These nurses will assist you in seeking financial solutions, provide information on our services and direct you to healthcare services for further diagnosis and treatment.

Clinical Trials

Patients enrolled in a clinical trial benefit from a group of disease specific experts designing the cancer care plan as well as continued oversight of the treatment by an additional oncology support team.

Saint Francis has access to clinical trials through the Central Illinois Community Clinical Oncology Program (CICCOP). Additionally, the CICCOP facilitates enrollment on a select number of MD Anderson Community Clinical Oncology Program research based studies.

Boutique

The Boutique at the Cancer Institute offers a selection of wigs, scarves, and accessories. It is staffed by Saint Francis Auxiliary Members and volunteers who work closely with the American Cancer Society® to offer support, resources, and programs.

Support Groups

Saint Francis Medical Center offers the I Can Cope program to cancer patients and their families. This program gives patients an opportunity to share their concerns with others having similar experiences and to help them design ways to cope with the challenges that arise from a cancer diagnosis. Speakers include healthcare professionals in cancer management. Videos, print materials and discussions provide up-to-date information for patients and their families and friends. I Can Cope meets the third Wednesday of every month from 11:30 am to 1 pm at the Saint Francis Cancer Institute. To learn more about I Can Cope, call 573-334-2230.

In addition to this, we also offer Breast Cancer Support Groups for breast cancer patients, their spouses, families and friends to provide information and assistance. You can find more information on these groups on the breast cancer page or call 573-331-5209, ext. 2.
