Basic Life Support (BLS) Heartcode Part Two Skills Testing

The American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support Heartcode Anywhere course is an alternative way to complete BLS from the traditional classroom setting.

Course completion consists of two parts, the computer-based cognitive program and the skills testing.

Part one:

After registering for the course, participants will receive an online license key to BLS Heartcode and instructions. Participants must print the completion certificate to bring to the skills session.

Part two:

Participants enroll in a skills testing session offered at Saint Francis Medical Center within 30 days of completing part one. You may practice your skills prior to testing at the same location as the testing area by arriving early for your scheduled time. Testing takes approximately 30 minutes.

After the participant presents a Part One certificate and successfully completes Part two skills testing, an AHA BLS certification will be issued.

Learning and Development offers a combination of live and renewal BLS classes for those colleagues that are required to maintain current BLS status and can attend these courses at no charge. If a colleague chooses to complete the BLS Anywhere course, Learning and Development will not cover the cost of the program that is required.
