The Foundation for Opioid Prescribing Education (FOPE) was established to support efforts to reduce opioid misuse, substance use disorder, and overall overdose fatalities in the Saint Francis Healthcare System service areas. Consistent with our mission to provide a ministry of healing, wellness, quality and love inspired by our faith in Jesus Christ, the FOPE provides funds to support activities, education, and services to promote health and wellness to decreasing the use and misuse of opioids.
Objectives
- To partner with community organizations working to address the opioid use disorder epidemic.
- To identify opportunities for improvement through targeted interventions within the Saint Francis Healthcare System.
Request Criteria / Guidelines
The FOPE will consider opportunities that meet the following criteria:
- The request must be from an organization located within the Saint Francis service area (see map below).
- The opportunity must be consistent with our Mission and closely align with the objectives of the FOPE.
- All requests for contributions and support will be submitted through the online request form below or made in writing and sent to:

Cape Girardeau, MO 63703 - Requests will be reviewed by the FOPE committee who will approve disbursement of funds.
- Requests must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the event date or print deadline for communications.
- Include with the following the request:
- Flyer / Announcement / Other communication
- All speaker biographies
- All sponsor information
- Proposed budget for the event
- All receipts, invoices, and other documentation to verify funds utilized within 30 days following the event.
