The 2023 Friends of Saint Francis Golf Tournament Benefits Local, Hungry Children

The Friends of Saint Francis Golf Tournament was held on August 18 at the world-class Dalhousie Golf Club. The turnout for this four-person scramble included more than 200 golfers and nearly 40 volunteers. More than $160,000 was raised this year for community efforts to feed hungry children both regionally and locally with donations to food banks and feeding programs including Clearwater Ministerial Alliance, Charleston Blue Jay Pantry, Sikeston Bulldog Pantry, Tiger Bites Summer Feeding Program, Jefferson Backpack Program, Jackson R-2 Power Packs and more.

Winners of the morning championship flight were sponsored by Fresh Healthy Café. Team members included Sam Blackwell, Chance Franklin, Mike Shaffer and Jack Watts. Winners of the morning “A” flight were sponsored by Cardinal Biologicals. Team members included Paul Pfeiffer, Tom Rafferty, Greg Hesselrode and Spencer Drum. Winners of the morning “B” flight were sponsored by CIS Data Services, LLC. Team members included Jason Colvin, Shane Sapp, Ryan Brown and Eddie Ouellette. Men’s Closest to the Pin winner on Hole 8 was Chance Franklin. Closest to the Pin winner on Hole 11 was Mark Perkins. Men’s Long Drive winner was Nick Jones and Women’s Long Drive winner was Meghan Smith.

Winners of the afternoon “A” flight were sponsored by H&R Alarms. Team members included Terry Scholl, Kevin Scholl, Jay Moore and Landry Moore. Winners of the afternoon “B” flight were sponsored by Metro Lighting/Metro Electric. Team members included Jarett Stafford, Schyler Trankler, Pat Elfrink and Dan Atkinson. Closest to the Pin winner on Hole 8 was Nancy Stone. Closest to the Pin winner on Hole 11 was Steve Logel. Men’s Long Drive winner was Jerry Jarrel and Women’s Long Drive winner was Janice Lumsden.
