Since the public renewing of Saint Francis Healthcare System’s Mission and Core Values in April 2018, the Healthcare System has been working to develop a new branding campaign that accurately represents the heart of Saint Francis. After obtaining feedback from all levels of the Saint Francis Family and the communities that Saint Francis Healthcare System cares for, we are proud to announce our new branding campaign, “Called to Serve You.”
“Called to Serve You” is rooted deeply in Saint Francis Healthcare System’s history. In 1875, three Franciscan Sisters felt the call from God to settle in Cape Girardeau and serve the community with faith-based healthcare. The love and dedication of three sisters developed into the most compassionate and specialized care in the Heartland region.
“Called to Serve You” provides a connection with the Greek word “Vocare,” meaning “to call.” When asked about the renewed branding identity, Saint Francis President and CEO Maryann Reese explained, “We have been invited to join God in His continual service to all people and appointed to the specific task of healthcare: mind, body and spirit, all according to God’s purpose. By centering our mission and values on this core belief, we can accurately convent the heart of our organization to the community.”
While medicine will always be the core focus of Saint Francis Healthcare System, our Mission, “To provide a ministry of healing, wellness, quality and love inspired by our faith in Jesus Christ,” compels us to extend our service to our communities through other means as well. The Saint Francis Foundation will continue to act as the hands and feet of the organization for their community outreach programs, including feeding the hungry, Pink Up, Sister Esther fund, and many more.
