Saint Francis Earns American College of Radiology Breast Ultrasound Imaging Accreditation

Saint Francis Medical Center has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in Breast Ultrasound and Ultrasound-Guided Biopsy as the result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR). This recognition represents high practice standards in all the latest tools for early detection and breast cancer treatment.

“This award recognizes our commitment to providing a higher standard of breast care for patients in our area,” says Ginny Ginithan, Director of Womancare and Imaging Services at Saint Francis Healthcare System. “Early detection is critical when it comes to breast cancer. As an ACR accredited facility, patients should have peace of mind knowing their safety is of the utmost importance to the hospital, physicians and staff providing their care.”

The ACR is a national professional organization serving more than 36,000 diagnostic/interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
