I went into today’s appointment wary because as someone with a complicated medical history + chronic conditions, I’ve had a LOT of bad experiences with doctors. All that to say…Sara Lorenz is an ANGEL on this earth. I have never felt so listened to by a doctor. She took me seriously, listened attentively without rushing, and was so gentle and compassionate. I will 100% be having any future babies here. First time in a long time I’ve left an gyno appointment without feeling dismissed and frustrated. 10000/10 experience. If you’re in southern Illinois, it’s VERY worth the drive to be treated like an actual human being!!

Staff is welcoming, attentive, and warm. He and his staff are professional. No need for embarrassment. Dr. Slack is everything you would want in a doctor. Explains everything fully and easy to understand. Very knowledgeable. Attentive. Gentle. Makes decisions WITH you, not FOR you. When I left his office I had no unanswered questions. He has the patient's best interest at heart.

Dr. Slack's professionalism and personality makes me feel comfortable when I have an appointment. He's genuinely interested in me as a patient and answers all my questions professionally. I highly recommend Dr. Slack as a choice for your OB-GYN.

I could not have asked for a better doctor to handle my c section. My biggest fear was having a c section and after a failed induction with my baby showing signs of distress he handled my case with compassion and helped me be at ease with the procedure before, during, and after. I am so grateful he was the man on shift that morning to take care of me. Best experience I could have ever hoped for.

Dr.Slack listens to my opinions and answers my questions. He explains all aspects of the procedure options. Totally satisfied!

After a traumatic birth in a different hospital with my first child, the anxiety I felt during this second (more difficult) pregnancy was high. Dr. Mayabb at every visit would lower my fears with unlimited answers to every question that my husband and I always had an abundance of. In L&D, she found that my daughter’s umbilical cord had not only wrapped twice around her neck and was causing hypoxia, but the cord had also prolapsed. This superwoman coached me through everything, to push with an epidural and without contractions, which felt like being verbally guided across a rope while blindfolded. I trusted her so much that not once did I have any doubt, hesitation or fear. <6mins later, my daughter was born, and with heat and oxygen, as healthy as can be. This kind of trust and unshakeable dependability is all anyone wants in a medical professional, especial one that holds the life of both you and child quite literally in their hands. Our appreciation for Dr. Mayabb is eternal.

I have been having problems with periods and this is the only doctor that has actually listened to me and helped me. She did not shame me in any way as others have about other issues! Fantastic and knowledgeable about this field. I will be recommending her to everyone I know from here on out!
